Sash restoration

Double hung wood sash. Non tilt window. I don't know the weight of the sash. The plastic outer tube crumbled while dissembling the window. I took the measurement from the top to where I think the bottom is, but you can see the spring extended from the bottom of the balance. I assume I'm looking for the Series 500 and bottom 17-012. Thanks in advance for the help.

Hello,
I agree that the S500-27 spiral balance and 17-012 bracket are most likely the parts that you need. Since the outer tube of your balance is missing, the S400 is also a contender but since older wood windows are usually on the heavier side, the 5/8" thick S500 would be a better option. Thank you!

Just to double check. I should go with a 27in length correct? I assume the plastic tube ended at that mark.
