Hello,

We'd be happy to help but, unfortunately, the stamp number does not tell you which balance replacement you need. It tells you the amount of tension the balance needs to support your window sash. We'll need to see a picture of your balance removed from the window and a clear view of the top and bottom attachments to locate the correct replacement for you. Thank you!

A quick learner says:
Hi, here are more photos of my window channel balance I need. There are no numbers on it except 28c. Not sure if this helps but I would like to order asap. Thank you Joan

Thanks, Joan. This looks like it could be either our S380-29 or S385-29, depending on the depth of the bottom shoe. I'm afraid that's not something we can confirm from your photos. The depth, for reference, is the "heel to toe" measurement of the shoe, assuming that the balance is standing straight up as it is while installed.

The S380-29 has a shoe depth of 1" while the S385-29 has a shoe depth of 1-3/32". After you measure your shoe, you just need to pick whichever Series is the better match.

Regardless of which Series you go with, you'll also want to select the 2830 stamp option when prompted. This is based on your older stamp rating of "28C."

A quick learner says:
I forgot to send you this picture, so I think I need a footer that is 1"?? Or do you think larger? Thank you again

What you're showing me here is the top fitting. The bottom shoe is on the other end of the balance. Also, by way your tape measure is held, you're giving us the length, not the depth. If you stand your balance straight up, pretend the shoe is an actual shoe, like you'd have on your foot. Then measure from the heel to the toe. If it's 1", you want our S380-29. If it's 1-3/32", you want our S385-29.
