Searching for single point mortise thumb lever

Quick Learner
I have an older house with a patio door that has screws set about 4 15/16 apart and what appears to be a non-keyed Mortise lock with a 45 degree lever. Photos of the disassembled set attached.

The lever has bent and the door will not latch.

Is the 82-080 the appropriate replacement?

Hello,

Unfortunately, I do not believe that the 82-080 would work as a replacement for the handle set shown in your photo. We may be able to supply a replacement but we would like to see photos of the mortise lock that your handle engages with to determine what would be compatible. Thank you!

Thanks for the reply. I am not sure exactly what you need to see, but attached are a few views of the lock. I may have the name wrong. I just started checking into this yesterday with no prior knowledge. My hardware stores do not seem to have anything to work locally. Thank you!

Thanks for getting back to us. We have two options that may work for your repair. Your mortise lock resembles our 82-218 shown below.

This lock is commonly used with the 82-030 handle set but this assembly has 3-15/16" hole spacing, whereas yours appears to be closer to 4-15/16". This may still work for you but new installation holes would need to be made in the door while being careful not to hit the glass in the door.

Another option would be to install something like the 82-005 surface-mounted handle set, which would bypass the need for the mortise lock and has 4-15/16" installation holes. This handle set also comes with a keeper that would need to be attached to the door frame. Take a look at the video below to determine which option could work for your repair. Thank you.

thanks for the reply. The second option will not work because the door nests in the frame, so the keeper and the lock will not match if surface mounted. I was hoping that I could just buy a new thumblatch since everything else still works and I cannot find a new handle that will work.

Back to the drawing board. Thanks for your help.

The 82-005 actually has a keeper that can be installed inside the door frame or on the face of the door since it comes with an adapter piece.
