Searching for video to replace operator in vinyl casement window on bay unit

Quick Learner
I have a vinyl bay window. The crank will operate to open window but on trying to close the window the bolt comes out along with the handle. I can close by screwing the bolt back in counter clockwise and when moving the handle clockwise pulling the window towards me.

Can I replace just the bolt. I watch the video on how to replace on wood window, but this is a vinyl Amerimax.

The mechanism is an entry gard by Truth, part #20810a

Hello, thank you for posting,

To further review, are you able to provide pictures of the original operator where we can see a bird's eye view of the base and arms? From there we can get a better idea of the best replacement option. Thank you!

Attached is a photo of the window arms and base. I took the bolt out. It will turn counter clockwise to open the window but the only way I can close is to pull on the window along with cranking celockwise. Possibly I can just get the bolt as it may be stripped out. I don't see that anything holds it in there except the threads.

Thank you,

Unfortunately the spline has been stripped which is not something that can be fixed. A new operator will be needed. Please start by taking a look at the 39-031 and 39-155 operators to see how they compare to your original. The main difference is the length of the short link arm. Let us know if you have any additional questions!
