Selecting the right channel balance

A quick learner from Florida says:
I have pulled out my balance and the only thing stamped on the side is 28E USB. The window weighs 28 lbs, the S380 29 looks really close, but top and shoe attachments are tough to be sure it they are correct. Measurements are close. Can you provide any insight?

Thanks for posting! I agree with you. I think that our S380-29 channel balance is a good match. For the bottom attachments, he main thing you have to worry about is the depth of the bottom shoe, and whether the top and bottom have wings or not.

As for the option, I recommend our 2850. This is the option that usually corresponds with the 28E stamp, and it also covers the weight of your window sash.
A quick learner from Lithia, Florida says:
Thanks for the reply. I will replace with S380-29 2850 channel balance. I will also be replacing the Top Sash Guide 18-180. I help with finding another part that is located at near the bottom of the window in the channel that maybe a Face Guide (size 5/8” where it screws into channel, 5/8” as runs out of the channel and hooks on the outside, it is 1/2” wide). Thank you for your patience in this matter. We are still trying to find something to work, but so far our search is yielding no results.

While we continue researching possible replacements, you might want to see our 67-002 Screw-On Face Guide. It's not an exact match, but it follows the same principle and you might be able to get it to work. Take a look and let me know if you think it can!
