Series 500 Red Tip Spiral Balances

Question

Hi, I have (8) spiral balance(s) that measure 31 5/8" and (4) that measure 23 7/16". They all have a red cap at the end. They all had a plastic sleeve which was cracked and.fell apart. I measured the balance tube as instructed. What size should I order?

Hello,

As long as your balance matches the photo below, as well as the length measurement, you should be able to round the length to the nearest inch for your replacement S500 balances. Based on your measurements, that would be the S500-32 and S500-23. Keep in mind that you may need to slightly adjust the position in the window jamb where the top of the balance installs.

Also, make sure to confirm that the plastic housing covers measure 5/8" in diameter. Thank you!
