Series 795 channel balance replacement for Patriot windows

Question

Over the past several years, I have purchased 28C Series 795 channel balances to replace balances in my 58" x 36" Patriot windows because the shoe broke in the original balances. The 28C balance length was about 2 inches longer than the originals.

Now I need to replace the balances in our smaller 33"x 36" windows. The original balances are 14" long but my question is whether I should purchase 16" ones because the original balance shoes broke? The window weighs 12.5 pounds. So, should I purchase 14C or 16C balances?

Thanks for contacting us, Ken. If the shoes are the only things that broke, then I would look at our 15-195 replacement shoe. Would this fit in your metal channel?

If you need a whole new balance, let me know the height of the visible glass. That will let us calculate the proper length.
