Shoe for Block & Tackle Style Window Balance

Handy Person from Mebane, NC 27302
Apparently the shoe on one of the two window balances has broken and is no longer in the channel. It probably broke during use by the previous owners of the house. The local building supply company who supplied the windows when the house was built has not responded to my request for a replacement part or the name of the window manufacturer.

The window is a double hung tip-out vinyl style. The broken shoe appears to be a 747 type but I don't understand the difference between open and closed cam style. Markings on the balance are 28B and TD / BSIN. the balance is 28" long (metal only). The channel in the window appears to only be 1" wide.

Hello,

It looks like you may have a channel with a curved bottom where the T-lock shoe attaches. If so, you may need something like the 15-236. You'll need to remove your balance from the jamb to compare to the specifications of our T-lock shoe below. Note that your shoe appears to have the same closed metal cam.

If you need entirely new balances, we'd need to see the T-lock of your assembly fully removed from the window jamb and confirm the exact width. It also looks like your balance uses the 15-198 pulley clip, which we could provide attached to your replacement S795-28 balances through a custom order. To get started, we'd need to confirm the number of balances that you need, with the minimum being two. Thank you!
