Should I have ordered 80-005 rather than 80-020?

Quick Learner from Piermont, New York
I ordered 80-020 assembly for my mother's patio door, but now that it has arrived I can see that the locking mechanism on 80-005 is probably what I should have ordered.

Can you help me confirm what is the correct replacement assembly?
Also, can the handle from 80-020 be used with the 80-005 set?

Below are photos of original with Patent numbers 3596954 and 919213 on enclosure.

Thank you

Hello there. Yes, this does look more like the 82-005. The 82-005 is a 'surface mount' handle set, meaning the lock is built directly into the inner pull. This is what you have. The 82-020 is a handle set that works with a mortise lock within the door frame.

Because the locking latch is built directly into the handle itself, you'll have to replace the entire handle set anyway. If you want to return the 82-020 you purchased, see our Return Policy here.

One other thing--check the hole spacing, or distance between the center of each mounting hole, on your old handle set. The 82-005 has a hole spacing of 4-15/16". If your old handle set has a different configuration, the 82-005 is still your best option, but note you'll need to drill new holes to install it.
