Single-hung aluminum RADCO window Balance

Quick Learner from Orcutt, CA
I would like to replace the sash balance on my single-hung aluminum RADCO windows.

"2040" is indicated on the old sash balance.

A local supplier sells an acceptable substitute with the designation "20 4 HV CMC 7" instead of 2040.

Do you sell this part?

THANKS

Good Morning,

We need to know which attachments are on your balance. You can either send us photos of your balance or you can browse our catalog to see if you can pick them out. Once we figure which attachments you have we can recommend which replacement balance series you need for your window.

Need sash balance replacements for a 1980's metal window. It's a four-foot square sash frame with the old shoes pictured below. I've referenced your catalogue and nothing matches for me.

Upload a few photos of your balance so we can take a look.

Mike,

Here's the photos of the broken part, as you requested. The sash replacements are for 4x4 ft, non-tilting, single-hung RADCO aluminum windows. Unfortunately, I am unable to correctly select the right sash balance shoes from your online catalog.

Thank you for your help in identifying the right replacement part.

Looks like you have the 19-005 top & 15-005 shoe. This would be our S380 replacement channel balance series. You would need to purchase S380-21 with the option of 2040.

Through previous correspondence with SWISCO, we have been able to identify sash balance replacements for our single-hung 4x4 ft RADCO aluminum windows. It's the S380 with a 19-005 top and a 15-005 shoe, option 2040.

Now we would like to replace the sash balances on our 3x4 ft (4 ft is the same height as above) RADCO single hung windows, which have always been difficult to close. We removed and checked the balance identification numbers on these smaller windows and they are the same as the larger 4x4 ft window.

Yet these 3x4 ft windows have always been difficult to close. Because of the, should we consider a different size option? A 2030?

Thank you for posting! First, can you please give us the weight of your sash? Also, are they the same series as the previous balances you purchased from us? That is, are the top and bottom attachments the same? Finally, what is the length of the metal channel?
