No names or part numbers on door. Can't decide if this is a 9 or 11. Plate is 11 3/4 end to end but lock itself is 9 7/8 from screw hole to screw hole.

Check out our 82-265 mortise lock. Look over our dimensions and compare them to your current hardware to see if this matches up for what you need.

That's the one I thought it was but I was told when I called your customer service line that the lock part should be 11 inches long too and it's 9 7/8 from screw hole to screw hole. My plate is longer than the lock part. The screws in the plate go into my door not the lock part. Is that normal?

The dimensions for the 82-265 appear to match what you show in your photo. Could you please point out where they differ?

The screws on the plate go into the lock and the door. We feel that the 82-265 is what you're looking for, but carefully go over our dimensions to make sure they match up to yours. If they differ in anyway, please let us know how.
