Sliding Door hardware

Quick Learner from Kentucky
Hi, my house was constructed in 1959. I have a single pane sliding window that I'm trying to find parts for. The parts in question are in the photo. I'd like to find something that locks if possible.

I'm afraid we don't have anything in our inventory like this. Based on the age of the window, there's a very good chance that we can't help you. All the same, I can try my best.

Before I go any further, can you tell me what this part does? Could I also see a photo of it installed?

Thanks for the reply! This is a handle that moves up and down on the sliding glass and when closed, hooks onto a hook the frame. I've attached some photos to this post!

There is another with a single handle on the opposite side. It functions the same way, but with one handle.

Thank you. These pictures are very helpful, but they only confirm my earlier suspicions. This handle set is way too old for us to supply a match. I have heard of handles working like you describe and I know for sure that they don't make them this way anymore.

The best option I can recommend is a surface-mount handle set like our 82-005. This is nice because it has its own self-contained mortise built into the handle, so it doesn't have to rely on any mechanism in the door itself. That allows it to work on just about anything. The catch is that you'll almost certainly have to drill new installation holes.

Sorry again that we couldn't get you a better amtch.
