Sliding Glass Door Lock Mechanism Broke

A quick learner from St. Louis says:

The lock mechanism in our sliding glass door broke. It unfortunately fell apart when I took it out, so I don't have images of the mechanism itself. I believe it was a mortise style lock. A little hook came out and gripped a strike plate.

I do have images of the door handle and the door area that the lock set in. The door handle had a square peg that fit into a square hole on the mechanism itself.

Hopefully this is enough! I've tried everything else to fix our door.

Casey from SWISCO responded:

Hi Joshua,

Unfortunately, I can't tell what hardware your door originally used based on these photos. In this case, I would recommend a surface mounted option like our 82-005

One stipulation is that you would most likely need to drill new installation holes, being careful not to hit the glass in the door. Also, look over the installation video we've related for more information. Thank you!
