Hello,
I just recently purchased a house and didn't realize until it was too late that the sliding glass patio door does not have a lock, just a security bar on the backside.
I haven't been able to find any mortise locks that fit this opening inside the door itself (see attached photos).
The opening for the mortise lock is 6" and the spacing of the screws that used to hold the old lock are 6 1/4" apart.
I don't have any information on the door or previously used hardware other than the door reads: Guardian, Webster Mass. ANSI Z971-1984 Safety Tampered, SGCC 300 1/3U, 1.8 CFR 1201 11, WMH4400.
The door had a handle on either side when i bought it, just no lever latch or lock/keeper.
Thank you for the help!
Matt

Hi Matt. I'm afraid we don't carry a handle set with 6-1/4" hole spacing; at any rate, it's very difficult to identify exact substitutes for the door without seeing the original hardware. I suggest you instead consider converting to a surface mount handle set like our 82-005. You'll have to drill new holes to install it, but because it has a lock within the handle itself it obviates the need for finding a mortise lock that works with the door. Let me know what you think.
