A handy person from Tennessee says:
I looking to find a lock for this door. It was not there when my in laws moved in. The measurements are 2 3/8 inches from the center of the top screw hole to the center of the bottom screw hole. the lock slot is about 1 3/4 inches.

Unfortunately, we don't sell a mortise lock that matches the dimensions given. Based on how old the door appears to be, there is a good chance that the part you need isn't made anymore and hasn't been for a long time.

You may want to consider a new surface-mounted handle set like our 82-005. This is nice because it comes with its own mortise built into the handle itself, forgoing the need to interact with anything inside the door. The catch is that it will be necessary to drill new holes for it to install. Check it out and see what you think.

Thanks for the reply. I'll check everything out before I make a decision. But this looks pretty good...
