Sliding door handle with lock and mortise

A home owner from Virginia beach, va says:
Looking to replace my existing handle/lock assembly with a working one. I'd also like to add a mortise (i believe that is what the inner locking mechanism is called), as there is nothing as seen in the pictures. Not sure how old this is, but could be original to the house , 40+ years. Any help with suggestions for replacement parts would be greatly appreciated. Please let me know if you need any further information or pictures. Thank you.

Hey there!

Thanks so much for your patience during our busy season. Take a look at our 82-003, which has a 3-15/16" hole spacing, and our 82-055, which has a 3-1/2" hole spacing. Compare our dimensions to yours and see if one of these can be used as a replacement. As for the mortise lock, the cutout in the center of your door looks to be too small to accommodate one of our full-size mortises.

As a last-ditch effort, you could resort to a surface mounted handle set like our 82-005. Look these items over and see what you think.
