I placed an order for a (1) 82-265 : Multi-Point Mortise Lock with Face Plate, 11" but it's the wrong part.

My old latch is the top photo compared to what we ordered (which is on the bottom).

Thanks for writing in! Having reviewed the photos, I can see that there are some slight differences in the design of your mortise lock compared to ours. However, we do not believe these differences would affect the function of the lock.

Can you give a bit more detail about why the lock didn't work when installed in the door?

The difference in the face plate doesn't allow for the latch we purchase to work on our door.

What would be the matching piece that screws into the wall. If we know the piece that the mortise would latch into we can order that and use the mortise we purchased already.

I believe the part you are referring to is a keeper. Take a look at our 82-249. You may need to adjust the position of the keeper so that it will fit.
