Sliding glass door handle needs replacement

The lock broke o the sliding glass door. Need to replace the handle. I've purchased two different handles from local hardware stores and neither fit.Looking for the correct replacement part. The screws do seem to be 3 15/16" on center.

Are these sufficient or do it need to take the mechanism out?

Thanks for getting back to me. We don't have an exact match for this handle set; I suggest you convert to a surface-mounted handle set like our 82-005. This has the locking mechanism built into the handle itself, thus obviating the need for an internal mortise lock. You will likely need to drill new holes to install it. Let me know if you have any other questions.
