Sliding patio door hardware
I have two sliding patio doors that have become very difficult to open and close. The doors are about 8 feet tall and quite heavy. I was no longer able to adjust the wheel height and I assume the wheel assemblies are rusted or corroded making the adjustment difficult. I also no longer have the screws to secure the roller assembly to the door.
I have attached photos of one that was replaced several years ago. I measures 2.5" long x .75" wide and the wheel measures 1.5" (diameter).
We only use one of the two doors so I will likely change only the one set. Additionally, the door we never use seems to move much more easily.
Can you identify which of yours would replace mine?
Looking at your roller I first thought the 81-020 roller, but that roller has the adjustment screw at the bottom of the housing. Your adjustment screw is at the top of the housing. You can simply swap the screws between the holes and it should still function in the door. Take a look at the dimensions for this roller below.
You can also take a look at the 81-132 roller. This looks like the one to match yours. One important detail to note is that it does not have a cut-out at the bottom so that could be a factor that will deter the installation but I believe it could work fine as a replacement. Carefully compare it to your original roller and see what you think.
You say you also need the assembly screw to attach the door frame. Take a look at the 33-083 this screw has the 8-32 thread count that fits the 81-132 roller housing.
I've also included tagged a few videos to this thread that may be helpful when replacing your rollers.
