these are the only pictures sent to me by an extremely elderly woman who desperately needs my help. It looks like the sliding support for a vertical opening window.

This looks like a 15-177 Pivot Shoe. This shoe works with Series 152 Coil Balances to regulate the opening and closing of the window. If the window won't stay open, then likely the coil springs should be replaced. The video below shows how to remove and replace coil balance systems. Let me know if you have further questions.
