Spiral balance

Question

I just bought a manufactured home with spiral balances   They work but are loud and sound like the spring or whatever is slipping.  They are single hung non tilt.  2 if them have the spiral un attached. Do I need new ones ?

It definitely sounds like you need new balances, yes. I would recommend either our 3/8" diameter Series 400 or 9/16" diameter Series 500, depending on the diameter of the original balance.
