Spiral balance replacement

A quick learner from Coppell, Tx says:
Hello, I am trying to replace these spiral balances in my windows. To be sure my windows do not tilt open. I'm needing to figure out how to detach the balance from the bottom part of the window as well as identify the proper spiral balance for replacement.

The balance appears to be 3/8" in width and about 29" long.

Thank you in advance.

Casey from SWISCO responded:

Hello,

I can't be sure with the balance still installed but you can start by taking a look at the 3/8" diameter S400-29 spiral balance. To remove your balance, you would need to reverse the installation process shown in our guide here

We also offer the 75-005 charging tool to assist with the removal process and to charge the replacements before reattaching them to the brackets on the bottom corners of the sash. Take a look and thanks for posting!
