Spiral balancer parts

Home Owner from santa rosa ca

Hi, I have old Mercer windows from 1993? The parts are still in the windows themselves, so I don't know how to identify them. I am enclosing a picture of a sash clip that the window company told me to save to help identify when I ordered parts. Are you able to tell anything from this?

I also do not know how to measure for the length, other than the tube I can see. How far down in the window do I measure?

Thank you! Cindy

Thanks for your post! In your first photo, you are showing a broken 17-010 Bracket, #13. These are typically used along with the Series 400 Spiral Balance. Are you able to remove the window sash? If not, the repairs are still possible, it will just take a bit more work.

To select the correct replacement balance, you'll need to start with confirming that the diameter of your tube is 3/8". Then you'll need to measure the length of the tube, excluding the colored tip (which will be used to select the tip option). To get accurate measurements, you will need to remove the balance from the window.

The back nylon piece on the side of the window is a face guide. I believe you can use the 67-002 Screw-on Face Guide but you'll need to compare the dimensions to determine if it might work for you. This is only available in white.
