Question

Hi,
I have one window where the spring coil has broken and needs to be replaced. I have another window where the part at the bottom of the window has rusted out and cannot sit in the spring housing so that won't stay open either. I cannot remove this part even when i undo the screw at the bottom. It just won't come out. Please advise.

Hello, Kathy. Your pivot shoe looks like an older version of our 15-180. That means you can use our Series 190 to replace the old springs.

As for the pivot bar, that one you have isn't made anymore. The good news is that you can use our 26-040 as a replacement. I know it doesn't have the same offset as your original but that shouldn't matter.

As for removing the old bar, since it's so rusted you'll probably have to let it soak in WD-40 overnight. Try that and give it another go after.
