Thanks for writing in! It appears you are looking to replace a channel balance for a tilt window. To determine the best way to get the balance removed from the window, I'll need to see clear photos of the balance. Unfortunately, I cannot determine the type of balance you have from the angles the photos were taken.
May I please see a photo of the attachment that should be connected to the bottom of the balance? It is likely at the bottom of the window channel.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions you might have in the meantime.
Thanks for the photos! Your channel balance does appear to be the S795-21 channel balance. This balance comes assembled with the 15-195 1-1/4" T-Lock Balance Shoe with a closed cam. To confirm if this is the right shoe, you'll need to remove your shoe and confirm the width of it. You'll also need to check if the metal cam is closed off or open on the back of the shoe.
To determine the stamp from your balance, I'll need to know the exact weight of your sash. Unfortunately, your 20 7 stamp does not cross-reference with the stamps on our balance.
Once I have this, I'll be able to confirm exactly which balance you need for your replacement.
In the meantime, for instructions on how to remove and replace these balances, take a look at the video tutorial below. Starting at the 3:14 timestamp we show how to remove and install them.
Yes, I did see the numbers stamped on the metal channel. As mentioned, I cannot use the stamp from your balance to determine the stamp option for the replacement. I will need to know the exact weight of your sash.
The shoe from your balance is the 15-195B 1-1/4" T-Lock Balance shoe with an open cam. This is sold separately from the balance. You'll need to swap them out with the shoe that comes assembled on the balance but it is a fairly easy process. Take a look at the video tutorial below for reference.
Hello,
I have acknowledged that I have seen the stamp and explained I cannot use this to identify what you need, unfortunately. The stamp does not cross-reference with ours. You will need to weigh the sash (the part of the window that tilts in) so that I can confirm the stamp.
Unfortunately, there is no way around this.
