Stanley bi-fold, mirrored closet doors 30" x 78"

Home Owner from Florida
I recently replaced the carpeted floors with engineered hardwood floors in the master bedroom. The existing mirrored closet doors were removed prior to the work being done. From research I've done, I've learned that mirrored doors are too heavy to support without a bottom track. Therefore, I'd like to replace my current track with a low-profile track (if available) before reinstalling the closet doors. This is mainly to reduce the tripping hazard.

The closet doors appear to have been manufactured by Stanley from the markings on the pivots. At the very least, Stanley seems to have made the hardware. The hexagon portion of the door pivot measures 3/8" in diameter and the overall pivot is 2-3/4" long. Several of the roll guides also broke off during removal of the track and doors. I'd like to replace all of the hardware and tracks if Swisco sells compatible pieces.

Thanks for reaching out to us! Your Stanley bi-fold corner can be replaced with 23-407 Corner Block. To confirm that this is the correct fit for your door, carefully look over the dimensions below.

Dimensions for 23-407
Dimensions for 23-407

For your adjusting pin, you can use the 23-113 Bi-fold Bottom Door Pivot and for the spring loaded pin, the 23-112 Spring Loaded Top Pivot. If you need any nylon roller guides, you can use the 21-174 Roll Guide.

The best replacement recommendation we have for a low profile track would be the 21-452 36" Low Profile Track Assembly, but you will need to cut it down to 30" with a hack saw.

Also, regarding the high profile track you are replacing, I would suggest keeping it for a spare; the manufacturer discontinued it.

Thank you. My existing corner blocks look to be a different size than 23-407. Mine measure 2.5" x 2.125".

If there's nothing wrong with my existing corner blocks, can I re-use them and just replace the top pivot and door pivots? It does look like the diameter of the pivot is 7/16".

Yes, it is not an exact match and I'm not sure your corner block is made any longer, but our 23-407 should work. If you would prefer to reuse the one you have, it should be fine especially if it is still in good, working condition. You'll just need to be sure the pins will be compatible with your block.

I'm assuming I'd have to drill new mounting holes in the aluminum doors in order to install new corner blocks? If that's the case, I guess I'm better off using the existing ones as long as the pivots fit correctly since the existing blocks are in good condition.

One more question. Can I leave the top track in place and only replace the bottom track with the low-profile one, or are the roll guides specific to the low-profile track assembly? The opening is 80.75" H while the doors are 78" H. I want to make sure that if I replace both the top and bottom tracks with the low-profile tracks that the doors will still fit and there won't be too much of a gap.

If your corner blocks are fine, you don't need to buy new ones; the pins should fit fine in your corner blocks. You can leave the top track and use the low-profile track on the bottom.

The roll guides work for either track.

I hope this helps!
