Storm Door Sweep

A home owner from Boston says:
Hi - the rubber sweeps in the bottom on my storm door were torn and worn and now have fallen out. Please suggest a replacement product. The door sweep is almost 32" long and needs two sweeps. Thanks.

I'm afraid I don't know what sweep you need. Can you tell me the size of the channel where it's meant to slide in? Can you also tell me how high they need to be to get full coverage?

A home owner from Boston says:
Hi - in response to your questions, I offer the following:

Both channels are 1/8" x 1/8" and for coverage will need 1/5" for one and 3/4" for the other.

Note the sweep holder is approx 32" long.

Your recommendations are welcome

Thanks for confirming. We have two sweeps with a 1/8" wide base, which are our 58-149 and 58-162. The bad news is that they're too short; the 58-149 is only 9/16" tall and the 58-162 is even smaller at 7/16".

The only other alternative we have to these is the 40-005 screw-on type sweep. I don't know how well your door will accommodate something like this, but the basic idea is that you'd drill new holes for this to mount right to the face of the door.

I am sorry that we could not offer you a better alternative.
