Striker Help

A quick learner from Sliding door says:
Hi, I need a replacement striker for my sliding door. I purchased item 89-030 but it was too wide and didn't quite work for my sliding door. Are there any other strikers that I should look into?

Hello,

Your mortise latch looks similar to the 82-268B, which uses the 89-042 keeper and 89-043 strike plate cover. Take a look at this keeper to see if this keeper will fit better in your patio door jamb. Thanks for posting!

A home owner from California says:
I'm trying to identify my lock manufacturer. I have two of these doors in my house. One of them had thin metal spacers under the strike plate that allowed me to adjust the strike plate so the door locked easier. This door does not have the spacers and I need to push on the door really hard to lock it. I'd like to be able to purchase the spacers.

Your keeper looks like the 89-030, which should work with your handle set. Did you try installing a few washers behind the keeper to create the extra projection you're looking for?

You should also consider the 89-036 adjustable keeper. Review the dimensions and see if this is the part you have on the other door. Thank you!
