Thanks for writing in. If you mean the channel balance that attached to the T-Lock Shoe was 28" long, then it sounds like you need our S795-28 with a stamp option of 28B. If your T-Lock Shoe is 1-1/4" wide, then the shoe that comes by default with the Series 795, our 15-195, should work for you. Now, double-check how your balance attaches to the window track. Does it have a tab that screws in to the top of the track? Or does it have a hook that fits into a slot? If it's a hook that fits into the slot, we need to see a picture of the slot in the wall that hook attaches to. Our balances use a screw tab instead, so we'll need to assess whether you need us to make custom balances for you with a hook, or if the shape of that slot in the wall will let use another solution. Many thanks.

The metal piece that is 28 inches long attaches to the window with a screw on top.

Great! Then the standard S795-28 with a stamp option of 28B should be exactly what you need. Let me know if you have any other questions.
