Tilt latches

To whom it may concern :

The 22-year-old windows in my condominium need some parts. I hope you have them.
I need the side latches that allow the windows to be tilted inside for cleaning, and also hold the windows in place. The latches are 2 5/8 inches in length on the top, though they might look like 2 1/2 because some of the edges have broken off.

I need 9 left and 9 right latches. Even removing them is tricky, since they crumble when you try to lift the bottom edge of the latch, when they are tilted in.

The attached photos should assist you in identifying them.

Thanks for posting. See either our 26-243 & 26-244, or our 26-419 & 26-420. Carefully compare all the dimensions of each tilt latch with your old parts and see what you think would work best for you.

To whom it may concern: This is a follow-up to request 36375216 from yesterday.

Thank you for your reply, along with your suggestion that I check out the information you sent me on parts 26-243, 26-244, 26-419 and 26-420

It looks like parts 26-243 and 26-244 are the parts I want. But I'm not sure, because I really can't tell the shape of the "tab" in the picture of parts 26-243 and 26-244 that has the dimension 3/16" on it.

I only have one of those tabs, (the others must fallen into the window frame while removing the latches) and it is shown in the attached photos. When I placed the tab where I think it should be, the bottom of the triangular end does appear to be at about 3/16 " from the end of the latch. One picture shows this. The other shows that there is no sign of breakage on the triangular end of the tab. But I can't tell from the photo that you sent of the part, that what is shown in my photo, matches your photo.

I was able to determine that parts 26-419 and 26-420 can't be the correct ones because there is nothing on my tab occurring at 3/8" from the end of the latch.

Anyway, I will be giving a call to you tomorrow, to discuss this, and probably place an order.

Respectfully,

Chris

Thanks for getting back to us! The shape of that little tab doesn't really matter. They all more or less work the same way. What's more important is the distance between that tab and the edge of the lock. If yours is 3/16" then it will work. If it's not 3/16", though, then the 26-243 and 26-244 aren't what you want.
