I ordered #38-144 but the inside is not the same as the one I am trying to replace. The 38-170, mentioned by a Swisco rep, is very close to what I need. The difference is the pin. The one I have does not have gears or those gogs.
I think if I can replace the plastic piece which I think it's called the keeper, I can get this latch to work. Do you have a way of looking that up?

I'd be happy to look into this for you, but at this stage I think it would be best if we see a couple pictures of the original lock. I don't currently see one attached to your post. There's a lot more than goes into identifying these than just going by the retainer in the back end.
Please remove the original lock from the window and show me a picture of the back and front. I will then be in a much better position to judge if we have a lock that would work for this application.
