Hi there Monica.

The part next to the handle is called a worm gear. This part can't be repaired or replaced so you must replace the operator assembly. We're happy to help with that but we'll need more information. Can you open the window and show us a clear view of the operator's arm that moves the window sash?

Thank you! Depending on the size of the link arm, it looks like the 39-031 & 39-032 or the 39-155 & 39-156 may be a match. Review the dimensions and see which one aligns with your old operator assembly.
