Hello - This window would not open or close, the she appears to be the problem. Could you please:
1. Help me order the replacement part
2. point me to instructions to remove and repair

Looks like you need a new balance assembly. We sell the individual parts separately. See our 15-177 pivot shoe and Series 152 coil spring. Your cover isn't made anymore, but since the original isn't damaged you can reuse it without issue. If that's not possible, just let me know and we can pursue alternative options.

Thanks Tom - before I order those parts, can I replace this with a different style of balance assembly? I'm nervous that I damaged the part (screw) where the balance is attached.

The parts that I suggested are a different style balance assembly. This is the modern iteration of your original parts, which aren't made anymore.

If you did need a new cover, then the modern assembly uses three components to that end: our 15-143 bushing, 15-144 bushing cap, and 15-145 support barrel. All parts are sold separately.
