I can't find the window manufacturer's name anywhere on the windows.

Hello! This hardware appears very similar to our Series 795 channel balance. Check it out and let me know if you could use this as a replacement.

I ordered just the T-lock and it's close but not the right piece. Narrower notch at the bottom and no notch on the back, or right side, as it appears in the photo. And its a bit shorter. Do I have to order the entire channel balance, and if so do I have to order two so the one on the other side of the window matches?

Yes, I'm afraid you'll need an entirely new balance. The Series 795 works on the same principle, but the little details like you pointed out are just too different to be able to exchange the individual pieces like the shoe.
We do recommend replacing both balances at the same time. It's not just about making sure the balances are the same, but it's also to prevent the new balance from wearing out too early. Consider that your older balance has been working for some years now and, over the years, the spring loses some of its tension. This means the new balance has to work extra hard to make up for it, which will cause it to wear out sooner. Replacing both balances at the same time ensures that your balances work optimally for as long as possible. You can always keep the old, still-functional balance on hand as an emergency backup.
