Upper window won't stay open

We have a bathroom window that opens at both top and bottom. Sometimes we have both windows open at the same time. Our top window slammed shut and after inspecting things, it looks like the upper left coil is the problem. It has #79 on it. The window can only be completely opened or locked shut. We've contacted our window company but they're out of business. I've contacted repair people but they can't find the part we need. We really need your help!!

Hello!

Thanks for reaching out to us. This looks like our Series 140 assembly. Since your old part is stamped "6", see the S140-06. A pair of these assemblies can support a sash weighing 11-12.99 pounds.

Let us know if you have any questions!

I received the part I purchased. Are there a video or written instructions available for installing it?

We don't have a video or instructions for this particular balance but we have a few videos you may find helpful. The first one features a different pivot shoe but the steps are essentially the same. You will also have to make a cut out in the window track if there isn't one already.
