Hello, one of the window springs broke and need to replace it. The upper portion of the spring is attached with a screw (see photo 1) while the bottom uses T-Lock balance (see photo 2). The only stamp I find on the old channel is 26 5 BSI. I am looking at your model: 27" Series 795 Channel Balance 27C as good replacement. The old channel measures measures slightly over 27". Can you help and confirm that the model listed is adquate?

Thanks for writing in! Your window balance can be replaced with the S795-27 Channel Balance. I believe our 27E stamp may work in place of your 26-5 stamp but be sure to double check that your sash weight falls between 26 to 30lbs; a 27C stamp will only support 17 to 22lbs.
The shoe on your balance has an open cam, so you'll also need to purchase the 15-195B open cam shoe; it is sold separately from the balance. These are fairly easy to swap out with the shoe that comes on the balance but there is a tutorial (tagged below) with instructions on how to do so, if you get stuck.
