Want to confirm I need the CertainTeed 15-192 pivot shoe replacement part

Hello,
As you see in the attached pics, the pivot shoe plastic broke (seems to be a common problem as I have 3 windows with similar problem). Studying your website it looks like I have a CertainTeed coil balance system with 2 coils providing for 24 lb force per window. The longer tongue coil has a 406 stamped on it. There is no number stamped on the plastic cassette cover but I weighed the sash on a scale and it weighs about 21 lbs. So I'm thinking I just need the 15-192 pivot shoe. I measured my pivot shoe and it matches with the dimensions on your 15-192 part very very closely (1.5 x 1.25 x 7/8). Is that what you think? I also submitted a picture of the only label printed on the sash itself.
Thanks!

Hi there!

The 15-192 may be what you need if this is a CertainTeed brand window. I can't confirm if it is from these photos though. Seeing the pivot bar removed from the window sash should allow us to confirm. Let me know if that'd be possible. Please note that the aligners on the 15-192's face would have to be ground down to fit into the track and modified parts cannot be returned for a refund.

We also have the 15-259 and S159 coil balance if this is a Simonton brand window. The video below details the replacement process.

Thank you for your reply, attaching 2 pics of one of the pivot bars.

Great, thank you very much! This is the old style Simonton pivot bar. With that in mind, my recommendation is the 15-259 and Series 159 coil balances. You will also need the 26-083 pivot bar for this conversion.

To determine the spring weights, you'll have to divide the sash weight by the total number of springs in the window.

I'm here if you have any other questions!
