What does the 27 14L Stamp on my Balance Mean?

Hello. My channel balance has broken. It has the stamp 27 14L and then in little print 02 asi. It is 28" long. When it was working, it was hard to lift the window. Does the 14L mean 14 lbs? If it was hard to open, should I get a stronger channel balance.

Your stamp is actually kind of peculiar. Typically, the numbers in a stamp are not a direct representation of any physical aspect of the sash weight. Can you tell me the exact weight of your sash?

I also see you were looking at our S385-28. Is this what Series you have? If not, or if you aren't sure, you can show us a photo of the top and bottom ends and the metal clip at the end of the cord and we can confirm. Seeing the stamp may also help at this point.

the sash weighs 43.8 lbs. It has the same clips as S390

(i was unable to send the photos via this thread so I sent them to the email address.) I will try again.

That definitely looks like the same type. Can you just confirm that the nylon ends match our Series 390? Can you also tell me how many you need?

Hello! I believe you can use the 2780 stamp option to replace your original balance. We just added this to the S390-28 store page for you. Two balances with this stamp are designed to hold 42 through 45 pounds. This should work for you but you may want to weigh your sash just to confirm.
