The coil snapped in the middle and I need to replace it. It has writing on it #7.5 31". I suspect it is the series 165. But not sure.

Your picture resembles a 15-199 pivot shoe which is compatible with the Series 165, but also compatible with Series 160. Please note, the series 160 coil is 1/2" wide while Series 165 has a 3/8" thickness. The Series 160 has springs with .5 pound increments so that may be what you have, but we encourage measuring to be sure!
