Window Balance for an Alcan Single sash window

Quick Learner from Sarasota Fl
Please provide part number so that I can buy parts based on the following. Alcan Single sash window. Top is stationary. Does not tilt. Sash is 50W by 32 high by 1" thick. Two different Balancers were installed a 2930 and a 2920. The 2930 was broken. Sash weighs approx
25lbs. What Balances do I need?
Thank You

Thanks for posting! Your channel balance appears to be the Series 395 Channel Balance with a 19-005 winged channel balance top and 15-001 wingless bottom fitting. The measurement for the depth of an undamaged shoe should be 1-1/8".

You'll need to purchase the S395-30 with a 2940 stamp option for a 25lb sash. Although, I would suggest to obtaining an exact sash weight to be sure that the balances won't be too strong for the window.

The damage to the balance shoe is likely due to the uneven spring tension on either side of the window. A 2920 stamp option can only support a sash weighing 12 to 16lbs and a 2930 stamp with only support a sash weighing 16 to 23lbs.
