Window Balance Help

Handy Person from Nanaimo, BC
Hi, I have 2 windows with this particular balance. One broken balance, but would like to replace them on both windows since they are 3 years old. I am hoping to get some clarification on ordering the correct balance. I am not sure if they weight is indicated in those numbers, but can confirm the balance is 21".

Thanks,

Chuck

Hello,

We'd be happy to look into this for you but we would need to see photos of the fitting attached to the opposite end of the balance as well to narrow down your replacement options. Your stamp code is also from an outdated weight system that is no longer used, so you'll need to weigh your window sash to determine the correct strength option for your replacement balances. Thank you!

Oh sorry, I took 8 pictures but I guess not all uploaded.

The sash is 22.4 lbs

Thanks for the quick reply.

Thanks for getting back to us. It looks like both of your balance fittings have wings to stabilize the channel in the window jamb. If so, you could have either the S380-21 or S385-21 channel balance. You’ll need to measure as shown below. The Series 380 has a 1" bottom attachment, and the Series 385 has a 1-3/32" attachment.

You'll also need 2040 spring strength options for your replacement balances to support a window sash between 15-23 pounds. Take a look and let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.
