Window Balancers

Quick Learner from Florida
Good afternoon we purchased our house in 2009 and we are looking to replace the block and tackle type window balancer which is broken in one of our windows. Please see the attached pictures. When I measured the metal piece, it was 29 inches. We looking to purchase two new window balances.

Thanks for posting. Is the metal channel 1/2" wide? If so, this is most likely either an S380-29 or S385-29. The only difference between these two channel balances is the 'depth' of the bottom nylon shoe, or 'heel-to-toe' measurement. See the diagram below. Measure your old balance's shoe depth to see what matches best. In either case for a stamp option choose 2860.

Appears the width of the shoe at the bottom is only 7/8 inches. So I'm ordering four of the 378 window balancers, if they're incorrect, can I return them?

Good eye. Yes, if the depth is 7/8", then the S378-29 is the best choice. If it proves to be incorrect, you can indeed return the balance--see our Return Policy here.
