Window Balances

Question

The house (and window hardware) is 23 years old.  The window balances are failing per the attached pictures.  One window in particular had both balances fail and I would like to replace both balances.  Plastic clips are broken and the springs are rusty.  The weight of the window is 15.6 pounds, it is a bottom window.  I would like to replace these two balances right now and if the successful, I would order more for the other windows.

Thanks for reaching out! These are an old style balance called a crossbow balance which has been discontinued. However, you may be able to use our Series 795 channel balance as a replacement.

To confirm if these are the correct replacement you'll need to find an undamaged balance so that you can confirm the exact length of the balance as well as the width of the T-Lock shoe. It will either be 1" in width or 1-1/4" (the 1-1/4" comes installed on the balance the 1" is sold separately).

You'll also need to confirm that the diameter of the spring is 1/2", if not, then you'll need to let me know.

Once you've confirm the measurements for the length the shoe and diameter, you'll be able to use the window weight to select the correct stamp option.
