I'm not immediately familiar with this assembly, but I'd be happy to look into it for you. Before we go any further, can you kindly show me a photo of the pivot shoe? Seeing it removed, like what you've already shown us, would be a huge help. Thanks!

I'm afraid not, this is just the spring cover. What I need to see is the pivot shoe, which is what the spring attaches to. It connects to the bottom corners of the sash.

I'm sorry to say that we haven't had any luck tracking this assembly down. It's a very unfamiliar design and nothing we've discovered so far seems to match.

I think we may need to shift our expectations into finding a substitute rather than finding a match. Is that something that interests you? If so, I'll need you to get quite a bit more hard data for me to get started.

First, I'd like you to measure the width and thickness of the pivot shoe. Don't worry about the height, that's not all that important. Right now I just want to find something that fits in the track the same way.

I'd also like you to measure the depth of the coil spring. Another way to phrase that would be the width of the metal band. Similar to the shoe, I want to make sure that what we sell you fits in the track.

Please also submit a photo of the pivot bar. This is the metal post that sticks out of the bottom corners of the sash and go into the pivot shoe. You don't have to remove it or anything, I really only need to see the front tip.

Lastly, and most difficult of all, I need you to remove the sash from the frame and weigh it on a scale. Any common bathroom scale will do. Please try to get the exact weight down to the ounce.

I know this is a lot of information, but it will all be necessary at minimum to find an alternative. Hopefully we'll be able to find something functional for you.

Thank you for your patience while we looked into this. After conferring with my senior colleagues, we agree that the best option for your balance spring is going to be the Series 165 coil. Using the S165-8 option specifically should be sufficient for your 15.2 lbs sash.

If you also needed the pivot shoe, we would recommend the 15-228, along with the 15-204 spring housing if you also needed that.

We believe that these components should be compatible with your window despite the various differences in design.
