Window Master Parts

Quick Learner from Vista, CA

Hello,

We have a lot of 20+ year old Window Master windows in need of some TLC. Thanks to your excellent tutorials, I think I am almost ready to place an order. I would however appreciate a little help to identify which series I need to order from. The channels are 1/2" and I believe the shoe depth is 1-3/32 as pictured. Lastly, in one room there are two identical windows that had completely different channels in them and I am not sure which to order.(see photo) One was stamped #2740 and one #2790, both metal parts measure 28". The #2790 was the first to fall apart, pins came out, plastic rollers cracked...The windows measure 45-3/4 wide by 29" high. They weigh 23.8lbs.

That covers it, I think. Thank you in advance for your help!

Deborah

Hi Deborah,

Thanks for reaching out to us! Since your balance assembly has a winged top and a 1-3/32" winged bottom shoe, I suggest using the S385-28. Given the 2790 stamp, this balance may a bit older than the other, so that is the likely the reason that balance fell apart first.

The stamp option for a 23.8lb sash would be the 2750 option.

Hi Jasmine,

Thanks so much for your quick reply. I also have the following windows needing replacement balances, all have the same balance assembly and winged top with a 1-3/32" winged bottom shoe as pictured above. Their stamps and sizes follow...

1520, 16"
1810, 19"
2490, 25"

Have a good day,
Deborah

Hi Deborah,

Looks like you'll need the S385-16 with a 1520 stamp and S385-19 with an 1810 stamp. For the balance with the 2490 stamp, you'll need the S385-25 but you'll need to obtain the sash weight to determine the stamp. Unfortunately, I cannot cross-reference with the stamps on our balances.

There is a chart below the product description of the balances that lists the weight ranged each stamp can hold.
