Window Retention Spring
I think I recognize this balance, but it's hard to make out from this photo. Would it be possible to see a clearer photo of both the top and bottom fittings? Can you also tell me if there's more to the bottom fitting, or if this is all there is?
Thank you! Please give us a little time to look into this and we'll get back to you as soon as we have more information on this configuration.
Thanks again for waiting. So, your balance is no longer something that's being made. However we can supply an alternative for you. I'll try to break it down as clearly as I can.
What we will be using is our Series 795 channel balance. This has a similar design to your own and works under more or less the same principles. But there are a few differences that will necessitate us tweaking things a bit.
To start, the bottom "T" lock shoe is a different design. Because of this, we need to increase the length of the balance by 1" to compensate. This also means we need to recalibrate the spring strength, since a different size means a different spring rating system altogether.
Additionally, the Series 795 installs at the top using a screw tab, not a hook.
With these details in mind, I need the following information from you:
- The length of the metal channel, NOT including the fittings. Just the metal channel.
- The exact weight of the sash that this balance supports, down to the ounce.
- A photo of the hole in the frame where the hook installs. It should be at the top.
- A count for how many balances you wanted to purchase altogether.
Once we have that information, we can best decide our next steps. Thank you!
