Window channel balances

I have the 27 series of balance in my windows but none of them have ever been the correct spring tension to either keep them up or pull them down without a strain, I used your calculator to determine the proper weight but I don't want to mess up on the proper ends, can I show you one of my old balances to match the ends and then order the correct weight rating ?

The balance I took the picture of is a old one and says 2740 not sure what window this one came from. I used your method of calculation for the weight and have 2 windows that are 24.87lbs., and 6 windows that are 28.79lbs., and all use this same style balance that measures 28 inches long. Please tell me what you reccomend for these windows as the original balances were all different and the windows never worked very well.

Thanks for posting! Before I can offer an applicable replacement for this channel balance, I just need to know a bit more information about the bottom attachment. Please take a look at our 15-004 and 15-005 channel balance shoes, and note their depths. As you can see, they are 1-3/32" deep and 1" deep, respectively. Which one more closely matches your own bottom attachment?

This is the other end and I was able to weigh the lager of the two windows and it currently has 2720 balances and wont stay up. The 2730 will work on those and the 2720 will work for the smaller windows, The metal channel measures 28inches
