Window doesn't stay up

Question

I think the balancer for the window is broken.
I'm not sure how to get the info to buy resplacement parts for it.
The picture of the sash and coils are show in the photo.

Thanks for posting. This looks it might be an older version of a Series 140 balance system. Please compare the dimensions listed below to confirm. You have to choose a spring weight for each replacement system you purchase. This designates the weight range they are designed to support. The '5+4' stamp on your coil housing makes me suspect you need the S140-9 9 pound system; but to be safe, weigh the window sash these coil balances support. Give me that exact weight and I can work out what you need.
