Kinco Window removal

Question

I have a single-hung aluminum window that has a broken balance or both. My problem is I can not get the window out of the frame to service the balancer. The balance tube is in the way. Bottom of window is free of channel, but top of window (side) will not come out. Window stops are removed. Some window types have a release clip - but none visible on this one. It is a Kinko window I believe.

Any advice appreciated.

It sounds like you might have a channel balance. Check out the video below and confirm.

If this is the kind of window you have, then you could use a screw as a temporary substitute for the release clip. If you just want to replace the clips, see our 16-002.
