Hello Jim. We should be able to replace this coil balance assembly for you. That pivot shoe was recently discontinued, but our 15-177 is a similar design and should be able to replace it. Like your old shoe, this new one is compatible with Series 152 Coil Balances. You'll need to select a spring weight for the new coil springs. There should be a stamp somewhere on the coil tape that indicates the spring weight needed. if there is none or you are unsure, obtain the exact weight of the window sash. Give us that exact weight, and we can work out the coil balances you need. Finally, for a new pivot bar, see if the 26-226 matches what you Have. See the diagrams below for reference.
We don't sell these balances as complete assemblies, unfortunately. We only sell the individual components separately. The benefit of that is that you only need to replace what's broken and reuse the rest, with the sole exception of the springs. You never want to mix old and new springs.
I'm not sure what an "F" stamp could mean. That could indicate a 6 pound calibration, but I'm just guessing. You will unfortunately have to weigh your sash on a scale to determine the appropriate weight option. I'd also like you to verify that this sash only uses one spring per side.
Yes there are balancers on both sides, there are two size balancers in needed the bigger window is a double hung 27x55 the coil has an F on it and the other window is a double hung 36 x 26 the coil has a B on it

Hey, Jim. Knowing the sash size isn't enough in this case. We need to know the exact weight, down to the ounce. You have to remove the sash from the window, place it on a scale, and write down what you get for me.
Also, to clarify, I need to know how many coil springs are used per side. There is always a balance assembly on both sides of the balance, but what I need to know is how many.
Great, thanks! So for a 15.4 pound sash and one spring per side, I recommend our S152-8. These carry 8 pounds per spring, so using one on each side gives you 16 pounds of total support. That should be perfectly fine for the given weight.
For 8.7 pounds, it's a little less accurate. You could use the S152-4, which carries 4 pounds and offers 8 pounds of total support. Another option is the S152-5, which carries 5 pounds and offers 10 pounds of total support. However my concern there is that it might be too strong. Personally, I'd go with the S152-4, but it's ultimately up to you.
Sure, so for two sashes you would need four of each of the following parts:
Note that if your old plastic cover is still in good condition then you can very easily reuse it. There would be no need for the 15-143, 15-144, or 15-145.
I also cannot give you a pre-made quote, but you can add these to your cart directly from our site at your convenience. Otherwise our phone operators would be happy to place an order for you.
